There is something really special about opening a book and delving into that unknown world, a world that unravels in front of your eyes with the turn of every fragile page. Reading books within the confines of a school library could soon be a thing of the past considering the steady advances that technology has taken with the onslaught of gadgets such as a Kindle and Ipad. As much as these new gadgets have made our lives easier there is a negative side effect to this “easier life” this is the closure of more libraries in schools tin he UK; regrettably more schools are now choosing to close their libraries or drastically reduce the hours that the school libraries are open. As the old saying goes “as one door closes another one opens”, lets hope the door on books does not close.
