It seems like the debate regarding Academies is heating up and by all accounts the only people vying for more academies is the Government. We at Oliver Parkes are yet to speak with any teacher that supports the need for having more Academies.
The news on the grapevine is that there may be a “Rumble in the jungle” spearheaded by the call for strikes. It has got to the point whereby the schools Minister Nick Gibb was sworn at; OMG we say here at the office. The National Union of Teachers (NUT) has already called for a ballot to be held to determine whether or not strikes will indeed take place. If they do they are scheduled to start next term.
